A 36-year-old man is suffering from serious injuries following a traffic accident in Gozo early Wednesday morning, the police said.

The accident occurred at approximately 6.45am on Triq l-Gharb, Għasri.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a collision took place between a Nissan Qashqai, driven by a 38-year-old resident of San Lawrenz, and a Honda motorcycle ridden by the victim, a resident of Għarb.

A medical team was dispatched to the scene immediately. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.

Police investigations into the cause of the crash are still ongoing.
