A 42-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday evening following an operation targeting illegal drug activities in Marsa. This arrest marks the third of its kind in the locality this week, as the Malta Police Force continues to implement a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal behavior and increase its presence within the community.

The incident unfolded around 5pm when officers received a tip-off regarding a man acting suspiciously in Spencer Garden. Upon arriving at the scene, police identified the suspect, a Nigerien national residing in Marsascala.

A subsequent search of the individual yielded approximately 30 packets of suspected cannabis, a block of the same substance, and a container filled with suspected cannabis resin. Officers also seized an undisclosed amount of cash found in his possession.

The man is currently being held at the police lock-up for further investigation and is expected to be arraigned in court within the next few days.
