Two men injured in separate traffic accidents

Two men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital after being injured in two separate traffic accidents on Thursday, the police said..

The first accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara

Preliminary investigations showed that a collision occurred between two motorcycles: a Suzuki ridden by a 30-year-old man from St Paul's Bay and a Znen Coral ridden by a 33-year-old man from Naxxar.

The second accident happened at about 9:45 a.m. in the limits of Rabat. Initial investigations found that a collisionoccurred  between a Toyota driven by a 75-year-old man from Rabat and a KTM 250 Freeride motorcycle ridden by a 32-year-old man from Siġġiewi.

A medical assistance team attended both accidents, and the 30-year-old and 32-year-old motorcycle riders were taken to hospital by ambulance, where they were certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
