Sustainability means striking a balance between economic growth and protection of environment - PN

Sustainability means striking a balance between economic growth and the protection of the environment, the PN said.

"In this context, the PN reiterated its vision in light of the need to maximise all the resources that the country has, including ancillary services, as there is still more that needs to be done," the party said in a statement.

This was the main message delivered by the Leader of the PN Alex Borg during a meeting with the Council of the Malta Development Association (MDA), where he explained that while regulation is always important, it cannot be a one-size-fits-all approach.

It is for this reason, Alex Borg said, that he will ensure that our policymakers commit themselves to avoiding such an approach, since this type of investment creates more employment and economic growth.

During the visit to the MDA offices, the PN Leader was welcomed by the Association's President Michael Stivala. The MDA is the main organisation representing developers and investors in the property and construction sector. It works to represent the interests of its members and to contribute to the public discussion on policies related to planning, urban development, the property market and sustainability within the construction sector.

Accompanied by PN Deputy Leader Alex Perici Calascione, Shadow Minister for Capital Projects and Infrastructure Bernard Grech, Shadow Minister for Planning and Lands Stanley Zammit, as well as MPs Toni Bezzina, Ivan Castillo and Ryan Callus, Alex Borg also reiterated the need for a clear and effective regulatory framework that strengthens the quality of development in the country.
