Momentum said Wednesday it has filed its first audited financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2025, receiving a clean audit opinion. The party closed its inaugural year with a surplus of €4,531 and zero debt. 

Revenue totaled €6,916, sourced entirely from membership fees and small individual donations. Momentum accepts no corporate donations or funds from hidden benefactors, ensuring it remains free from business interests seeking political influence.

Party Treasurer Carmel Axiak emphasized that these accounts reflect the party's commitment to transparency and voluntary service. By maintaining clean books with no strings attached, Momentum aims to build a political movement that is not beholden to anyone.

The party highlighted a stark contrast with Malta's established parties: the Nationalist Party holds €11.7 million in liabilities, while the Labour Party reported a 2024 deficit exceeding €1 million. 

Momentum argued that politics does not need to run on debt or opaque financing. Calling for full transparency across all political organizations, the party positions itself as the only honest alternative - the 'Bidla ta' Vera' - proving that a political movement can be lean, accountable, and independent from day one.
