The Electoral Commission notifies those persons whose name appears in the Electoral Register published on 1st May, 2026, subject to additions, deletions and corrections ordered by the Revising Officer, that voting documents will be delivered by the police daily from Monday 4th May until Friday 15th May, 2026, between 8.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m.
The Electoral Commission notifies that voting documents shall be delivered only at the address where the voter is registered. This means it is necessary that at the place of residence there shall be a responsible person over 16 years of age who is a relative, and/or resides or works thereat to receive the voting document.
Persons receiving the voting document will be asked to confirm receipt of the document by signing on a mobile device provided by the Police Officer.
The Electoral law permits political party representatives to accompany the police officer during the delivery. These representatives are supplied with an authorization tag issued by the Electoral Commission, to be shown on demand.
The voting document should be kept in a safe place, as nobody will be allowed to vote without it on polling day.
Electoral Register published in the Government Gazette
The Electoral Commission notifies the general public that a revised Electoral Register upon which the General Elections due on 30th May 2026 is based, has been published in the Government Gazette of the 1st May, 2026. Any person who had the necessary qualifications to be registered as a voter in accordance with the provisions of the General Elections Act (Cap.354), on the closing date 27th April, 2026, and whose name has not been included in the Register and every voter whose designation, address or other particulars have not been shown correctly has, according to Art. 39 and Art. 42 of the General Elections Act, up to Friday 22nd May 2026, to appeal to a Revising Officer to have one's name included or one's particulars corrected in the Electoral Register.
Any registered voter who:
1. desires, for any lawful reason, to remove from the register the name of any person for want of the requisite qualification; or
2. claims that the respective designation, address or other particulars are not correctly shown in the register;
may also submit an appeal to a Revising Officer to this effect in accordance with Art. 40 of the General Elections Act, up to Friday 22nd May, 2026.
However, in accordance with article 42 of the General Elections Act, from 16 May 2026 onwards, the Revising Officers must defer sine die the hearing of all pending applications. Therefore, anyone wishing to present an appeal before the Revising Officer is encouraged to do so prior to 16 May 2026.
Any person desiring to appeal to a Revising Officer may seek assistance at the Electoral Office. The attention of the general public is drawn to the importance of verifying their inclusion in the Electoral Register. Failure to do so may result in the loss of a person's entitlement to vote in the General Elections, due to be held on Saturday, 30th May 2026.
The General Elections register may be viewed at the Electoral Office. However, one may check if one is registered as a voter in this register through the online facility in the Electoral Commission's website, www.electoral.gov.mt, under the "Publications" section and by pressing the "Can I vote?" button.
Nomination of assistant commissioners and other categories
The Electoral Commission notifies independent candidates and registered political parties contesting the European Parliament and Local Council elections that they may submit to the Electoral Commission lists and application forms of persons they wish to nominate to serve as assistant electoral commissioners, counting staff and party agents up to no later than 7.00 p.m. of Saturday, 9th May 2026.
