A man has been arrested in connection with drug trafficking in St Paul's Bay, the police said Thursday,

Yesterday morning, at around 8.30am, while police officers were on a routine foot patrol in Roman Port Road, St Paul's Bay, they noticed a man who aroused suspicion.

The man, aged 20 and residing in Pietà, was stopped and searched. Police allegedly found eight packets containing a substance suspected to be cocaine and four packets containing a substance suspected to be heroin, together with an amount of cash.

He was arrested on the spot and is expected to be arraigned in court today at around 1.15pm before Duty Magistrate Dr Gabriella Vella LL.D.
