Sunday, 14 June 2026, 18:49 Last update: about 3 months ago

No one was injured after a truck carrying heavy machinery struck a wall at Xemxija Hill, causing it to collapse.

Shortly after the incident, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) said their officers were on-site to assess the damage and ensure public safety.

The debris was immediately cleared from the pavement, a jojnt statement said.

Although authorities determined there is no immediate danger, they have issued an order to halt all construction activities at the site as a precautionary measure. The only works permitted are those of a remedial nature, specifically concerning the wall that separates the site from neighbouring properties.

The authorities reminded the public that any reports regarding construction sites or health and safety concerns should be directed to the 138 hotline, allowing officials to investigate such matters without delay.
