The Embassy of Italy in Malta and the Italian Cultural Institute have announced that Voci d'Estate, the Italian contribution to the international celebration of the Festa della Musica 2026, will be taking place tomorrow, Sunday, 21 June 2026. The initiative celebrates music as a universal language and coincides with the summer solstice, joining a worldwide event dedicated to artistic exchange and cultural dialogue.
The evening will feature a special concert bringing together outstanding performers in a programme that spans different musical traditions and styles, offering the audience a unique journey through Italian and international repertoire
The concert opens with the luminous serenity of Antonio Vivaldi's Beatus vir RV 598, written for soloists, choir, strings and continuo, a work whose alternating radiance and tenderness set the tone for the evening. It is followed by Alessandro Marcello's Concerto per oboe e archi in Re minore, heard here in the organ transcription by Andrea Gottardello, unfolding through its three movements - the poised Andante e spiccato, the contemplative Adagio, and the spirited Presto. The programme then turns once more to Vivaldi with the Gloria RV 589, presented in its full arc of twelve movements, from the jubilant opening to the final, exultant Cum Sancto Spiritu.
The soloists for the evening are Mariette Borg and Daniela Briffa, sopranos; Bianca Simone, alto; and Andrea Gottardello at the organ. They are joined by the Ensemble Vocale MelChoir, directed by Eleonora Capellari and comprising Angela Scotto, Chiara Estela Bellagamba, Elena Gjoka, Francesco De Nicolo, Sebastiano Sala, Tommaso Zampieri and Luca Dal Poz. Alongside them perform the Corsivo Singers - Mariette Borg, Daniela Briffa, Anne Marie Scerri, Bianca Simone, Lorenzo Bellagamba and Miguel Rosales - and the Ensemble Isouard with Vincenzo Picone and Matteo Colombo on violins, Elena Gori on viola, Yaroslav Miklukho on violoncello, Marco Agnetti on contrabbasso, Chiara Telleri on oboe and Salvo Cannuli on trumpet.
