Three men were arrested in two separate police operations following investigations into the importation and trafficking of illicit substances.
The police raids resulted in the seizure of various drugs that were reportedly packaged and ready for sale, the police said Saturday.
In the first operation, authorities conducted a controlled delivery after intercepting a suspicious package sent from Spain. The package contained approximately 1.5 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis resin.
Following this discovery, police searched the residence shared by two Italian nationals, aged 22 and 19, where they found additional drugs and various items associated with drug trafficking.
In a separate investigation, a 21-year-old Maltese man was taken into custody after being found in possession of 170 suspected ecstasy pills.
Officers also seized substances suspected to be cocaine and magic mushrooms, which were being held for trafficking purposes, the police said.
