A four-year-old girl suffered grievous injuries late Friday night following a multi-vehicle traffic accident in Triq il-Manikata, Mellieħa.

The incident took place at approximately 11pm. According to preliminary investigations, a Suzuki Swift driven by a 28-year-old woman from Santa Venera crashed into a pole and careened into the opposite carriageway.

The car then collided with a bus, driven by a 48-year-old man from St Paul's Bay, and a Mercedes Sprinter van, driven by a 33-year-old man also from St Paul's Bay.

A medical team rushed to the location to provide first aid to the driver and the four-year-old girl who was a passenger in her vehicle. Both were transferred to Mater Dei Hospital via ambulance. Medical professionals later certified the young girl with grievous injuries, while the driver was unhurt.

Police investigations into the crash remain ongoing.
