A 39-year-old man resident of Żabbar was seriously injured earlier today in a traffic accident on St Francis Street, Cospicua, the police said.

The incident occurred at around 7.30am, when assistance was requested. Initial investigations showed that the man lost control of the Honda motorcycle he was riding and crashed into a parked vehicle.

The rider was given medical assistance on the scene by a medical team and was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
