Over the past year, the Water Services Corporation (WSC) completed eight major water infrastructure projects across Malta and Gozo, funded through the Green Bonds, the Energy Ministry said Friday.

These projects have upgraded and modernised the water distribution network, making the system more efficient and reducing water losses. This work forms part of the Government's ongoing commitment to a stronger, more reliable water supply for the years ahead.

The Green Bonds issue, worth €25 million in total, has now disbursed almost €17.8 million, equating to 71% of the total amount, to fund these projects. The company also continues to meet its obligations to bondholders, making an interest payment of just over €1 million on 25 August 2026, the government said.

Minister for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour Miriam Dalli reaffirmed Government's commitment to supporting green investment in the water sector, ensuring that Malta's water infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of residents and businesses while protecting the environment.
