A group of Occupy Justice activists took to the streets of Valletta to protest the verdict that cleared businessman Yorgen Fenech of all charges linked to the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Gathered outside the court during the Victory Day celebrations, demonstrators confronted attendees which included Prime Minister Robert Abela holding portraits of Daphne with a clear message demanding that the state deliver true justice for the Maltese and Gozitan people.

Sicne Daphne was killed in October 2017, the Great Siege Monument has been used for years to display photographs of the journalist, messages calling for justice, and memorial candles.

While these tributes have frequently been removed in the past, they have consistently been placed back on the monument by persistent supporters.
