The cultural festival "F'Casal Fornaro" is returning to the historic streets of Qormi on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19, 2026, to celebrate Maltese heritage, traditions, and identity. Centered around Qormi's rich history and its deep connection to bread-making and baking, the event blends local heritage, crafts, folklore, music, and Maltese gastronomy.
It provides a platform for the community, artists, artisans, producers, and volunteers to share Qormi's unique identity with the public.
Minister for Tourism Jo Etienne Abela noted that the event exemplifies how tourism can reach beyond traditional attractions to bring visitors closer to the heart of local communities, allowing them to experience Qormi's baking traditions authentically.
Minister for Arts, Culture, and Local Government Malcolm Paul Agius Galea added that such initiatives reflect the government's vision to make culture accessible within towns and villages, breathing new life into inherited traditions and ensuring that Maltese identity remains vibrant for future generations.
Supported by VisitMalta, the Qormi Local Council, Festivals Malta via Rock'N Malta, and various other public and private entities, this year's edition promises a memorable experience celebrating community, culture, and the local economy for both locals and foreign visitors alike.
