Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg has called for continued improvements to Malta's education service to ensure it responds to the needs of both students and educators.
Borg made the comments during a visit to Sir M. A. Refalo Sixth Form in Gozo at the start of the new academic year, where he met the school's management, teachers, students and staff and heard about the challenges they are facing.
The PN leader said the quality of the education service must continue to improve in response to the changing needs of students and educators.
During the visit, discussions focused on the challenges faced by educators as well as those experienced by students, including the need to ensure that students receive the support necessary to continue progressing in their studies.
The importance of providing educators with the conditions they need to carry out their work was also discussed.
Borg praised the dedication of teachers working at the institution and wished both educators and students a successful academic year.
He also toured the school's various departments in Victoria and spoke to staff working in each section.
The visit formed part of a series of visits being carried out by the PN leader and party officials to educational institutions at the beginning of the new academic year.
Earlier in the day, PN deputy leader Alex Perici Calascione and Shadow Minister for Education and Citizenship Jerome Caruana Cilia visited the Higher Secondary School in Naxxar.
