Two British citizens, a 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were arrested at the airport on Wednesday night following allegations of drug trafficking, the police said Friday.

Authorities received an anonymous phone call at around 11pm reporting a man and a woman allegedly selling drugs in the departure lounge.

After obtaining a description, police quickly initiated a search and located the pair shortly afterward on the lower floor of the airport, where they were promptly taken into custody.

A review of security camera footage revealed that the suspects had been using a vehicle parked in the airport's parking lot.

Subsequent searches of the car led to the discovery of four packets containing a substance suspected to be cocaine, two packets of suspected cannabis grass, seven ecstasy pills, 54 bottles of Nitrous Oxide (commonly known as laughing gas), and approximately one thousand euros in cash.
