Home Affairs Minister Glenn Bedingfield said that information requested about police investigations into an alleged ghostly encounter at a farmhouse in Xewkija had "disappeared," in a tongue-in-cheek reply to questions submitted by PN MP Beppe Galea.
In a parliamentary question, PN MP Beppe Galea asked Bedingfield whether police had made any further visits to the residence following the incident during the night of 22 and 23 September.
Galea also asked what investigative steps had been taken, including whether statements had been collected, inspections carried out or evidence gathered.
In his written reply, Bedingfield responded: "The requested information has disappeared!"
The parliamentary exchange follows reports published in September about the alleged incident at a farmhouse in Xewkija, where a group of Maltese guests contacted police at around 2am claiming they had encountered an apparition.
According to the reports, one of the guests alleged that the figure had slammed him against a bed, while another person reportedly said they had seen a man walk through a closed glass door.
The person who was reportedly upstairs described the figure as having a white face and no eyes.
Other guests alleged that kitchen appliances moved and switched on by themselves, while a voice was also reportedly heard inside the property.
Police confirmed at the time that they had received a request for assistance through the emergency number and that officers had attended the scene.
The guests were found outside the property when officers arrived, and no medical assistance was required.
Police carried out inquiries at the scene and ruled out the involvement of third parties.
A priest was also brought to the property during the night after police collected him to accompany them. Rev. Dr Marcello Ghirlando later confirmed to Times of Malta that he was the priest who had been contacted to visit the residence.
The exchange does not provide further details on whether additional police action was taken after the night of the incident.
