FPEI’s Entrepreneurship for Creatives 2026 covers pricing, copyright, branding and funding across evening and weekend sessions this autumn.

Creatives in Malta can learn how to price, protect and fund their work through a free training programme starting this October at Valletta Design Cluster.

Entrepreneurship for Creatives 2026 focuses on the practical business skills that freelancers and other creatives need to support their work. Organised by the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives (FPEI) and supported by APS Bank, the course's series of in-person sessions will take place on selected Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings between 15 October and 12 November.

Over five topics, participants will learn how to turn a creative idea into a viable business model and protect their work through intellectual property (IP), copyright and licensing. There are also dedicated sessions on using storytelling and branding as business tools, pricing and monetisation, how to use AI tools for business purposes, and how to increase visibility and find funding. Each session is interactive, with time built in for discussion, sharing ideas and connecting with experienced professionals and fellow creatives in the room.

Entrepreneurship for Creatives 2026 is open to freelancers, artists, designers, makers, performers, content creators, writers, photographers, filmmakers or anyone who hopes to turn their creative passion into a sustainable business venture, with no prior entrepreneurial experience required.

"The creatives we meet are talented and hard-working, but the business side is often what holds them back, which can result in missed funding opportunities or IP challenges, for example," says Giselle Borg Olivier, Foundation Manager at FPEI. "We've designed these sessions to be practical, engaging and informal. Participants can sign up for the sessions they find most useful and leave with something they can put into practice the very next day."

FPEI's Entrepreneurship for Creatives 2026 sessions take place at Valletta Design Cluster on Thursdays 15, 22, 29 October and 5, 12 November from 6pm-8pm and on Saturdays 17, 31 October and 7 November from 10am-12pm. While attendance at any or all course sessions is free, registration in advance is essential at fpei.mt/project/entrepreneurship-for-creatives-2026/.
