Young leaders and entrepreneurs from across JCI's network will come together in Brussels from 11 to 15 October for the 2026 JCI European Know-How Transfer (EUKHT), an annual programme connecting young people with European decision-makers.
Organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Europe, the programme gives participants aged between 18 and 40 the opportunity to experience the work of the European Parliament and gain a better understanding of how European institutions and decision-making processes operate.
EUKHT brings together 60 participants from a JCI network spanning 15 member countries, creating opportunities for young leaders with different backgrounds and experiences to exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Interest in the 2026 edition has been strong, with all available places taken two months before the scheduled end of the registration period.
During the five-day programme, participants will take part in shadowing Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), alongside workshops, training sessions and panel discussions. These activities are designed to provide participants with practical insight into the work of European institutions and the role of elected representatives.
The exchange also provides participating MEPs with an opportunity to engage directly with youth leaders and entrepreneurs and hear about the experiences, priorities and challenges facing their communities and organisations.
The 2026 JCI European Know-How Transfer is held under the patronage of Katarina Barley, Vice-President of the European Parliament. Barley has served as a Vice-President of the European Parliament during its current parliamentary term.
"EUKHT is about creating a direct exchange between young people and European decision-makers. Participants are able to see how European institutions work from the inside, ask questions and share their own experiences, while also building connections with young leaders from different countries," said Isabel Simon, 2026 Programme Manager and JCI Vice President.
Beyond the MEP shadowing experience, the programme creates a space for participants to discuss European issues, develop their understanding of public decision-making and build connections with peers from different countries.
The European Know-How Transfer forms part of JCI Europe's work to provide young people with opportunities to develop their leadership skills, broaden their networks and take an active role in their communities.
Updates, discussions and moments from the 2026 programme will be shared throughout the event on Instagram at @europeanknowhowtransfer and on LinkedIn at @european-know-how-transfer.
