A 25-year-old French man was arrested at Malta International Airport following a multi-day police investigation linked to an alleged stabbing on Triq il-Wilġa, St Julian's, the police said Wednesday.
The incident took place on Thursday, October 1, at approximately 3pm, when police were alerted that an ambulance had been called after a 22-year-old English man sustained slight injuries, believed to be caused by a sharp and pointed weapon.
Through investigations and CCTV footage analysis, authorities discovered that while the victim was walking, another individual emerged from a vehicle, approached him, and then fled the scene.
Police continued their inquiries, leading to the arrest of the suspect early yesterday morning as he attempted to board a flight to England. Searches of his luggage yielded clothing that matched the footage of the assault.
