A group of guides, rangers, senior rangers and leaders from the seventh Rabat Girl Guides travelled to Windsor in the United Kingdom this summer to participate in Wings 2026, an international Scout and Guide jamboree offering adventure, challenges and cultural exchange.
Held within Windsor Great Park, the event transformed the campsite into the Kingdom of Wings, where participants journeyed through a series of themed guilds and took part in a varied programme of activities.

The Maltese contingent experienced water-based adventures in the Voyager's Guild, developed outdoor skills in the Survivalist's Guild and explored their creativity in the Artisan's Guild. They also tackled climbing activities in the Scaler and Miner's Guild and tested their teamwork and problem-solving abilities in the Challenger's Guild.
Other activities focused on performance, wheeled pursuits and enterprise; giving participants numerous opportunities to acquire new skills and challenge themselves.

Beyond the Guild programme, the group visited Windsor and enjoyed evening entertainment, themed nights, and the jamboree's opening and closing ceremonies. The busy programme ensured that the international experience continued well after the daytime activities had ended.
The Rabat Girl Guides also contributed to the cultural dimension of Wings by organising an activity showcasing Malta. Inspired by the jamboree's medieval theme, participants were invited to design a Maltese shield while learning about the country's symbols, history and culture.

Following a full week of camping, the group continued its journey with a visit to London, where members explored several of the capital's best-known attractions. Their itinerary included Pax Lodge, one of the five World Centres operated by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Throughout the experience, the guides and rangers met scouts and guides from around the world, exchanged badges and scarves, explored new places and learned to navigate unfamiliar situations together.
Wings 2026 offered the group valuable opportunities to develop their independence, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories, bringing an action-packed international guiding adventure to a memorable close.
