The Head of the Public Service, Tony Sultana, has presented the publication "It-Twettiq tal-Budget 2026" (Implementation of Budget 2026) to the Minister for Finance, Clyde Caruana, a Department of Information statement said Monday.

The report reveals that the implementation rate of the Budget 2026 measures currently stands at 86%, with expectations for this figure to reach around 90% by the end of the year. The presentation took place as the Ministry works on the final touches for the upcoming Budget 2027.

Sultana emphasised that budget measures must not remain mere commitments on paper, but must translate into tangible results for the public. He stressed that transparency and accountability are essential pillars of a public administration that serves citizens, adding that public administration employees at every level are the driving force behind the execution of the budget.

Caruana expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Public Service for the report and acknowledged the dedicated work of the public service in delivering these measures.

Published by the Office of the Principal Permanent Secretary, "It-Twettiq tal-Baġit 2026" details the status of every measure from Budget 2026, alongside tracking progress from budgets between 2022 and 2025.

It also provides an economic performance analysis and outlines how the measures align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
