The Bombi 1 bus stop is temporarily closed as of Wednesday, 4 November, until Saturday, 21 November due to road works, Malta Public Transport announced on Tuesday.
As a result, any passengers who typically use this bus stop as an interchange between different bus routes are being asked to catch the next bus on their journey from the Valletta Bus Terminal.
The Bombi 1 bus stop, located in Floriana, is one of the busiest bus stops in the country, with it being a principal point for many passengers to change routes and travel to different parts of the country every day.
This update, shared through Malta Public Transport's Facebook page, named "Tallinja," came on the same day that Enemalta announced the start of cable works in Gżira.
Enemalta had said that these works, commencing in Gżira on Wednesday, would install 7.2km of new cables, including a new 11kV connection between Manoel Island and Sliema.
Enemalta's cable works are resulting in the closure of the Gżira-Sliema seafront bus lane for an estimated two months. As works progress towards Sliema, traffic heading out of Sliema will be reduced to a single lane, the energy company said.
