Court: Two Libyans Charged with assaulting policemen

Two Libyan men yesterday pleaded not guilty to assaulting and slightly injuring two police constables in San Gwann on Tuesday night.

Aboubaker Elmeksawi Abdussaiam, 26, and Omar Ali Masoud, 27, were also accused of disobeying police orders.

The men, who pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them before magistrate Lawrence Quintano, were remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted while Dr Beppe Fenech Adami appeared for the two men as their legal aid.
