Malta Independent Monday, 3 November 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Bank of Valletta presented a series of books to the MCAST Institute of Art and Design in a bid to assist students who study at the institute and follow creative, technical and management careers in art, craft and design.

The book donation was made by Karl Spiteri, manager corporate branding and quality at Bank of Valletta, who was welcomed by Victor Vella, assistant librarian at the MCAST library of the Institute of Art and Design in Mosta.

Thanks to the donation, students will be able to utilise the BOV-sponsored books for research and to carry out projects, which typically cover topics such as video and photo editing.

“Through the Education Pillar of the Community Programme, Bank of Valletta donates numerous books to various academic institutions. It is part of our corporate social responsibility to ensure that future generations are given the necessary tools to help institutions such as MCAST in providing vocational training to their students,” explained Mr Spiteri as he toured the library with Mr Vella and institute director Stephen Vella.

The MCAST Institute of Art and Design provides students with an internationally recognised training programme in a number of art and design areas at various levels from the BTEC First Diploma to the Higher Nationals.
