Updated: Three men kept under arrest over drugs

Two men are being kept under arrest after they were found to be in possession of what is suspected to be drugs, the police said.

They were arrested on Saturday night, in Marsa at 8.30pm. Their car was stopped after police suspicions were raised. The car was being driven by a 29-year-old from Birzebbugia, and a 44-year-old Bormla resident was a passenger. Packets containing suspected drugs were found.

Investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident, the police later said that a 23-year-old youth from Birgu with drugs, ready to be sold.

He was arrested after days of surveillance and was arrested near the Freedom monument in Birgu. He was arrested with what the police believe to be heroin and cocaine. Investigations are ongoing.
