The GWU said it was making its position clear because it still had not received any information about other unions’ stances on the issue.
GWU Aviation and Maritime Section secretary Emanuel Zammit said the union was forced to make the statement after a news report in last Sunday’s il-Mument.
The union said that before it signed any agreement, it wanted a guarantee from Air Malta that the company’s burden would be shared out among all employees and not just the common workers. The union said it was acting in a responsible manner and said its members would not succumb to any form of provocation.
The union said it would keep trying to safeguard the interests of all its members within Air Malta’s ranks.
