Mr Muscat said this during a meeting he had with Motorcycle Insurance Action Group (MIAG) representatives David Grech and Carmelo Grixti.

MIAG was formed to press for a fair deal for bikers after the considerable price rises in motorcycle insurance premiums, which amounted to as much as 300 per cent in some cases. The Labour candidate has been following this issue for the last few weeks and gave his assistance to MIAG. He also offered contacts with similar European pressure groups. Mr Grech and Mr Grixti thanked Mr Muscat for his assistance and promised to keep him informed of future developments.
