SMEs To reap the benefits of EU membership

Speaking after a visit to the Mosta industrial zone where he met several small and medium sized enterprises and their workers yesterday morning, Dr Gonzi said these enterprises are improving and as a result they were creating more jobs.

Dr Gonzi said the government wanted to offer incentives for people who are registering for unemployment and was urging the unemployed to participate in various schemes and courses being offered by the Employment and Training Corporation.

EP candidate Joanna Drake said that more than 90 per cent of the economic activity of the EU is thanks to small and medium sized enterprises adding that improving these enterprises is a continuous challenge and priority for the EU.
