The witnesses were Mr Paul Polidano and Mr Paul Magro while the best man was Mr Anthony Polidano. The ushers were Mr Gordon Polidano, Mr Paul Cachia, Mr Lino Magro, Mr Paul Magro and Mr Frederick Magro.
The bride was attended by Mr Jean Paul Polidano, Mr Sebastian Polidano, Mr Samuel Polidano, Mr Gilbert Polidano and Mr Joseph Paul Farrugia. Flower girls were Miss Mariah Polidano, Miss Antonella Polidano and Miss Angèle Farrugia.
The wedding mass took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina. It was officiated by Canon Michael Agius, Parish Priest Vince Fenech, Fr Ray Toledo and Fr Carmelo Zammit. Maestro Dione Buhagiar conducted the choir.
The bride wore a dress of great originality designed and executed by Mario Xkembri. All the clothes worn by those in the bridal retinue were made by Mr Xkembri including the light blue suit worn by the bride’s mother. The matching hat was made by Ms Rosanne Spiteri Stafrace.
The Westin Dragonara Resort provided an ideal setting on a beautiful spring day. Everywhere, white flowers were arranged tastefully by Mrs Theresa Sullivan and the general manager of the Westin, Mr Hans Cauchi and his team, went out of their way to make it a truly unforgettable reception. Over 600 invitations had been sent to family and friends who converged in the lobby and on the sunlit terrace where fresh oysters proved to be a great favourite. Champagne flowed through the nine hour long reception. Beautiful music was provided by Freddie Mizzi and his 12 piece band.
Over one thousand souvenirs, which took some two years to make were made of ganutel by Mrs Polidano helped by the bride. She had learnt this craft at the Council of Safi. The bride’s head-dress too was made of ganutel by Mrs Polidano.
The happy couple spent their honeymoon in Singapore, Australia and Dubai.
