The closure is due to the arrival of the first consignment of sand in connection with the St George’s Bay sand replenishment project, ix-Xatt ta’ San Gorg.

The road which goes by St George’s Bay from the lower part of Villa Rosa up to the Corinthia Marina Hotel will be closed to traffic between midnight today and Wednesday due to the presence of heavy vehicles.

Although public transport will not be affected, access to and parking along the above-mentioned stretch of road will not be permitted.

While any inconvenience is regretted, motorists are advised to take the necessary precautions and seek alternative routes.

The second consignment of sand is expected to arrive towards the end of the month.
