Moreover, in the first three months of this year, trade with Germany increased with a further 10 per cent over the same period in 2003, said Mr Borg, who was giving a brief overview of the work carried out by the GMCC over the past 16 months since its inception during a meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.

Mr Borg said that during recent visits in various cities in Germany, the GMCC had been working to enhance German-Maltese business relations, and the results are already showing. He referred especially to an international conference on foreign direct investment which will be held in December in Frankfurt, for which the GMCC has been invited to represent Malta.

Dr Gonzi expressed his satisfaction at the work carried out by the GMCC in promoting Malta in Germany – a country which has always been a leading partner for local businesses.

Dr Gonzi wished the GMCC all the success in its activities, and endeavoured and promised that Malta Enterprise – as the government agency directly responsible for this sector – will be of support in the future.
