Both vehicles target the luxury off-roader market and are equipped with the latest traction control technology, accompanied by all the interior comfort features that have now become standard with most of this brand’s models. The Terracan, however, is intended to meet the high-end market needs, providing both cutting edge off-roading capabilities and top of the range luxury features.

Both 4x4s can be used for green laning and semi-rough terrain, although the Terracan is engineered for more punishing treatment. The Tucson comes in 4WD and 2WD versions and is powered by a two litre CRDi engine developing 115 BHP. It is equipped with an intelligent four-wheel-drive system that works with traction control, controlling sliding and skidding on mud, gravel and sand, all of which is activated at the touch of a button.

The vehicle’s electronic interactive torque management four-wheel-drive system helps turn all the wheels at the same time without losing traction grip. The

system is not intended for normal on-road driving as it hinders correct steering control. The vehicle is fitted with a sensor that automatically disengages the system, past a 35-kmp/h speed limit.

The Terracan is equipped with a 2.9 litre CRDi engine that can deliver an impressive 150 bhp. The Terracan is a rugged all-terrain vehicle that employs a different 4wd system than the Tucson. All the functions are controlled electronically and are engaged by a switch, both from standstill or in motion.
