Local Councils Association, MLP Express disgust at acts of vandalism

Malta Independent Wednesday, 8 September 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The MLP said that such forms of aggression should carry heavy penalties.

Every mayor and councillor should be respected and thanked for the work they carry out, and any aggression against them should be condemned by one and all.

The MLP section showed solidarity with the Marsa mayor, encouraging him to continue working without fear.

In a statement issued yesterday, the association reminded the public that the only aim of whoever committed these acts was to disrupt the locality and damage those who have been elected to improve it.

The association showed its support to the mayor and urged the police to investigate the incident and possibly take legal action.
