MLP Questions visit of Libyan delegation

Malta Independent Thursday, 9 September 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 23 years ago

In a statement issued yesterday, Labour MP Leo Brincat said the meeting was of public interest, due to the issue of visas for Libyan entrepreneurs and Maltese working in Libya.

Since the government chose to keep quiet about the meeting held last Monday, the MLP will

continue questioning the reason behind this secrecy, said Dr Brincat.

The Labour MP also said that the party had noted the government’s “diplomatic slip-up” in withdrawing the nomination of Malta’s ambassador to Libya after it had informed the Libyan government of the nomination.
