During the meeting, a number of issues having an impact on the professional role of qualified persons in their activities within the pharmaceutical industry were discussed. These included the industry’s relations with regulatory authorities and other Government departments, and the need for adequately trained and skilled personnel for the rapidly expanding pharmaceutical industry in Malta.

On his part, the minister expressed willingness to consult with the MQPA on various issues. He mentioned the need for an effort to work towards objectives of the highest standards within set timeframes in order for the country to operate to its maximum potential within the European Union.

The MQPA, representing members of an industry accustomed to working in such an environment, welcomed the minister’s

statement.

In order to achieve this goal, both the minister and the Malta Qualified Persons Association committed themselves to a process of open dialogue in order to allow all parties to fulfil their roles towards the pharmaceutical industry and society in general.
