The company informed the Union Haddiema Maghqudin, which represented its employees, that it had to take this drastic decision after the Gozo Channel did not renew the contract it had with the company.
The UHM was promised that the employees will be given whatever they are owed, while the union will be assisting the workers to find alternative employment.
