“We are extremely pleased with the decision taken by the police corps,” said David Gasan, Managing Director of Gasan Enterprises Ltd, importers of Ford in Malta. “The Focus is one of the best-selling and most reliable cars on the road today, and one of the awards it holds is Germany’s TUV Award for reliability. We felt extremely confident in offering the Focus to the police – their job requires that they can react fast, effectively, and sometimes in difficult driving situations, and they will have the confidence of knowing that they can do this, thanks to the Focus,” added Mr Gasan.

The model chosen by the police is the Focus 1.6 100PS in both the five-door hatchback and the four-door sedan version which comes with a host of safety features including ABS brakes, dual-stage driver and passenger airbags and Multi Link Control Blade rear suspension for better handling in tough cornering conditions.

“A number of police forces in Europe already use the Focus in their fleets and the Malta police force is now joining their ranks. The relationship between Gasan and the police goes back a long way and Gasan has always been appreciative of the difficult work carried out by the police” said Mr Gasan.

The Focus vehicles are currently undergoing exterior livery modifications in accordance with police corps requirements and are expected to come into service in the next few weeks.
