This year’s theme is “Looking ahead with courage together with Christ the Lord”. The theme was chosen in the light of the work being carried out to put into effect the Diocesan Synod’s proposals.

A two-year plan is being drawn up for 2005-2006 in order to bring together the various realities of the Church in Malta, in the further implementation of the Synod held from 1999 to 2003.

Sunday’s open-air manifestation in Zejtun will commence at 4pm with an animation session. The peak of the day’s programme will be Archbishop Mgr. Joseph Mercieca’s address for the occasion. In case of bad weather, the celebration will be held at the Zejtun parish church.

Christ the King celebrations also include a manifestation for adolescents and another for children. The activity for adolescents is to be held on Friday, at 6pm, at the Salone delle Rose, Tarxien while the activity for children is planned for Saturday at 4pm, at the Catholic Institute, Floriana.
