A man was yesterday jailed for three-and-half years for burgling five establishments and stealing a total of over Lm9,000 worth of items after a magistrate heard that his fingerprints were found there.

Anthony Frendo, 38, from Mosta was found guilty of stealing Lm80 from Freddie’s Self Service Store in Lija; Lm5,000 from M4 Supermarket in Attard; cash and perfumes from St Helen’s Pharmacy in Birkirkara; Lm3,200 from Zahra Enterprises in Attard and Lm800 from G&G Supermarket in Attard between 6 November 1992 and 4 February 1993. Police Inspectors David Saliba and Angelo Caruana prosecuted.
