Three offers have been submitted to the Department of Contracts for the modernisation of catering services at Gozo General Hospital.
This project forms part of a series of projects and initiatives intended to modernise the services and facilities offered by Gozo General Hospital.
The implementation of this project will bring about a better presentation of meals for the benefit of in-patients.
It will also facilitate work in connection with the preparation and presentation of food in the hospital wards.
The new system, the offers for which are presently being adjudicated, allows meals to reach patients at the right temperature and in a more hygienic way. The project also involves staff training related to more modern practices for food distribution in hospital.
Apart from the introduction of this modern system, present work in progress at Gozo General Hospital includes the second phase of the modernisation project of the Maternity Ward that is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, with a total investment of around Lm80,000.
