The government was not offering solutions to the country’s problems, said Labour spokesperson on social solidarity Marie Louise Coleiro yesterday.
Ms Coleiro said that a year after the publication of its national plan against poverty and social exclusion, the government had not seriously addressed the problems that it had identified and which affected a large number of people.
She said the government had also failed to address the negative effects of the rising cost of living.
The government, she said, should stop talking about liberalisation and competitiveness and instead listen to those who were suffering because of increased taxation and the excessive rise in the cost of living.
