Labour leader Alfred Sant is expected to meet British Prime Minister Tony Blair on 27 October at 10, Downing Street. The details for the meeting were finalised by a Labour delegation that was led by secretary-general Jason Micallef and international secretary Joe Mifsud during their recent visit to the Labour Party general conference in Brighton.

The Labour delegation held talks with Mr Blair, deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown and also had meetings on important issues such as irregular immigration, which attracted the support of Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and Immigration Minister Tony McNulty.
