Carnival Evenings at St Augustine’s

Malta Independent Saturday, 18 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Two Carnival evenings were organized on 24 and 25 February at the St Augustine Hall in Tarxien.

St Augustine’s junior forms gave a show of what talent can be achieved by youngsters even at such young age and the family spirit reigning at the college between students, teachers and parents. The evenings were organized by the PTA of the college.

The evenings comprised sketches and short presentations by the students, as well as other entertainment provided by guests. The parents were simply amazed at the dancing talent of their children while sketches and jokes added to the fun and entertainment.

J Anvil opened the evening on Friday, and additional entertainment was provided by Brooke’s Dancers and Augusto Cardinale, while on Saturday Amanda and Josef were the special guests. Additional entertainment was provided by Hector Bruno.

The evenings were compered by the drama teacher, Miriam Grima, who was also the driving force and the director of the shows, and to whom a surprise tribute was given by the students who dedicated four small poems to her.

The final item in both evenings was a grand eight-minute presentation of Hello Dolly, in which students, teachers and parents participated.
