Ever wondered if you have an undiscovered talent for acting? Ever wondered what acting classes are all about? This is a wonderful opportunity to find out and maybe make your wish come true. Did you know that many people build their confidence through drama and that it can improve your positive outlook to life?
These drama classes are open to all those who wish to learn and at the same time have fun.
Beginners
Participants will be introduced to basic acting techniques. The two sessions are carefully devised to slowly build confidence through improvisation, text, movement and voice.
Intermediates
This course is for individuals with previous acting experience. Participants will benefit from in depth technique of stage acting, improvisation, theatre terminology for the actor (objective, action, obstacle, beat), speech and movement. Focused theatre exercises will generate creative ideas as participants prepare scenes and monologues. Tenets of acting structure are taught. Each participant will be expected to prepare a monologue from 2 – 5 minutes long.
The classes will cover a broad spectrum of themes in the world of drama and allow for in depth coaching. These two sessions are designed to develop your own practical skills, imagination, creativity, knowledge and ability.
Groups will be divided according to age and level of experience.
Vocal Master Classes
Stage Breeze is also offering Vocal Master classes covering modern technique conducted by professional vocal coach Jon Mohnani.
There are two parts to these master classes. Participants will be able to benefit from receiving professional voice technique in the styles of pop, rock, cabaret and musical theatre. Jon Mohnani has had his fair share of experience in coaching singers of all ages. Locally he has coached the winners of the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest of 2003 Sarah Harrison, and 2004 Young Talent Team as well as the students for the TV programme Maratona Voice Academy. Following extensive training and professional experience, Jon is eager to share with his colleagues the quest to promote a higher standard of local talent. Participants who are fairly new to this field as well as those who are veterans will both benefit from the individual coaching.
The second part of these master classes offers concrete advise on what to expect and how to make your way into the entertainment industry abroad. Jon Mohnani has spent several years working abroad, starting out with the insecurities of every aspiring singer, overcoming the struggles and enriching his contacts along the way. Local singers may make the most of this occasion to understand which path may lead them to a fulfilling career, and discover what the industry holds and demands from them. Participants are given the opportunity to acquire all this exclusive information enabling them to discover the contacts required to land agents, auditions and jobs worldwide.
Due to the extent of the subject, the vocal Master classes will be divided over two sessions of two hours each with a limited number of participants in each group, on a first come first serve basis. Groups will be divided according to age and level of experience. Each participant will perform and receive individual advice on vocal technique, expression, delivery and diction.
Stage Breeze further plans to organise follow up master classes focusing on in depth training to meet audition standards in the UK.
