Buyers from all over the UK Grocery Market have voted Tetley as the UK’s top supplier within the Hot Beverages category in a Branded Supplier survey carried out by “The Grocer”, the leading publication in the industry.

The voters were asked to judge their suppliers on marketing efforts supporting the products, customer service, collaborative planning to field support, including competitive pricing and supply chain efficiencies.

Other aspects included account management, areas such as demonstrating an expertise in the market and an in-depth understanding of the consumer needs, the real focus on growing the market through range extensions, well-researched new product development (NPD) and innovative brand activity.

Tetley, which is imported and distributed in Malta by Charles Darmanin Ltd, was noted for its consistent advertising support, merchandising support and great deals. It received the gold award ahead of Nestle` and Unilever in the survey by “The Grocer”.

Tetley is one of the leaders in the hot beverage market. With buying agents at all the world’s major auctions, each week Tetley purchases more than 1 million kilos of tea, necessary to produce its different blends.

Records show that more than 157 million cups of tea are drunk each day in Great Britain and that one in five of them originate from Tetley.

Tetley also received the Gold award from the Federation of Wholesale distributors in 2005.
