Vodafone Cuts European roaming prices by 40 per cent

Malta Independent Sunday, 14 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Vodafone Malta has committed itself to reduce its European roaming prices by 40 per cent on average by not later than April 2007. This means further significant cost savings for Vodafone Malta’s customers while traveling in Europe.

The move continues Vodafone’s commitment to offer great value to both consumer and business customers who make use of their mobile phone overseas. It also builds on the introduction of the innovative Vodafone Travel Promise service launched last year. This announcement continues to prove Vodafone Malta’s leadership in offering innovative and customer focused value deals for its customers.

The 40 per cent reduction will be based on the average roaming prices from last summer and will be implemented by April 2007 at the latest.

Vodafone Travel Promise allows Vodafone customers to call home at local rates with only a connection fee of 50c added per call. For the same connection fee, Vodafone customers will be able to receive calls at no additional cost, for calls up to 10 minutes. This latest news from Vodafone represents a huge saving for any calls made across 14 countries in Europe.

In addition to the easy-to-understand Travel Promise tariff, Vodafone makes pricing as transparent as possible for its customers. Full details on the Travel Promise charges are available by calling Vodafone Customer Service on 247.

Activating the Vodafone Travel Promise is free of charge and can be carried out by calling Customer Care on 247 from a Vodafone or 2148 2820 from any other line. Alternatively customers can visit one of Vodafone’s Retail Outlets in Birkirkara, Valletta, Paola, Naxxar and Gozo. More information can be found on the website www.vodafone.com.mt

Vodafone Travel Promise is available on Vodafone networks in the following countries: Albania, Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden El Madar in Libya, and Tunisie Telecom in Tunisia. It is also available in France and Monaco on the SFR network, in Switzerland on Swisscom and in Belgium on Proximus.
