A man and a young woman were yesterday put on probation for damaging a car and stealing a stereo out of it.

Jurgen Xerri, 27, from Marsa and 19-year-old Donna Camilleri, pleaded guilty to breaking into a car and stealing a car stereo worth Lm70 on 5 May in Hamrun. They were also accused of causing Lm10 worth of damage to the vehicle which belongs to Anton Debono.

Xerri alone was accused of relapsing in view of previous convictions. Xerri was put on probation for two years while Camilleri was put on probation for 18 months. Police inspector Roland Cassar prosecuted.
