FKNK Claims ‘a good migration’

Malta Independent Wednesday, 24 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Malta Federation of Conservationist Hunters and Trappers yesterday issued a statement saying that, compared to recent years, this year’s spring migration was a good one, especially for turtle doves.

The FKNK also thanked hunters and trappers for heeding its appeal to abide by the law throughout the hunting season.

The federation chided Environment Minister George Pullicino over comments he made about the transposition of the EU birds directive into Maltese, which they claim will eventually abolish hunting and trapping. The FKNK announced that they will be meeting Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning.
